2020 ZGC Forum China Nordic Sustainable Development & Innovation Forum will be held in Beijing on the afternoon of September 17th. Offline and online will be integrated, focusing on innovation and sustainable development, and the collision between innovative thoughts and scientific and technological ideas, thus jointly building Nordic Innovation Hub in China

The 2020 China Nordic Sustainable Development & Innovation Forum is an important part of ZGC Forum. With the theme of "Guided by Science, Driven by Innovation", which focuses on sustainable development and innovation, topics such as ecological smart city and sustainable materials, internationally renowned scientists, senior experts, entrepreneurs and diplomats will be invited to deliver excellent speeches and dialogues. The forum will also hold the unveiling ceremony of Nordic Innovation Hub in China, and unite with famous universities and research institutions, science parks and incubators, multinational companies and other institutions in China, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and other countries to promote market-oriented joint innovation with deep integration of production, education and research.

The Forum will be hosted by Beijing Dongcheng District People's Government, undertaken by Zhongguancun Dongcheng Park Management Committee and Zhongguancun Yonghe Hangxing Science Park, with strong support from Sino-Swedish Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, Stockholm Materials Center and Nordic Sustainable Development Cities. Meantime, we also invited embassies and consulates of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and other countries in China, and many heavyweight guests from Nordic institutions in China will attend the meeting.

Highlight 1: Top masters gather, discussing sustainability and innovation

Mr. Gordon, Energy Counselor of the Danish Embassy in China, will introduce the concept and practical experience of sustainable cities in Northern Europe; Ms. Maria Schunnaide, director of Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL), will share her views on eco-environmental protection industry and digitalization; The theme shared by Mr. Siern Lawson, director of NIVA, is the sustainable development of marine and freshwater environment; Academician Wang Zhonglin, director of Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences, will introduce the global development trend of nanomaterials and bring new thoughts to participants. In addition, we also invited representatives from Nordic enterprises in China, such as Mr. Che Wei, vice president of Danfoss (China) Company, Denmark, who will introduce and deeply analyze Danish energy practice, and bring us enlightenment in regional energy exploration and planning.

Highlight 2: Highlight 2: The interaction and integration of government, industry, schools and institutions to promote the joint Sino-Nordic innovation

The two heavy roundtable dialogues in this Forum focus on cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation and practice, which deserves special attention. In the round-table dialogue session of "Smart City Practice under the Integration of Science and Technology, Digitalization and Ecological Governance", heavyweight guests from Environmental Development Center of Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Norwegian Embassy in China, Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL), Scania Group (China) and Sweden Disperator were invited to discuss ecological governance and the exploration of smart cities.

Another roundtable dialogue focuses on the development trend of sustainable materials. Experts from Stockholm Materials Center, World Academy of Ceramics, Stockholm University, United Nations Atomic Energy Agency, Tsinghua University, Peking University and other institutions and academic circles will share cutting-edge thinking from the perspectives of sustainable innovation, science and technology against epidemic diseases, and lead us to appreciate the power of sustainable innovation.

Highlight 3: Cooperation and innovation meet challenges together, and the innovation consortium will be launched

Under the initiative of the last forum, Nordic Innovation Hub in China will be unveiled in this Forum, which will settle in Hangxing Science Park, Dongcheng District and build a market-oriented innovative joint model with deep integration of industry, schools and institutions. Focusing on sustainable development and innovation, the Nordic Innovation Hub in China will focus on multilateral advantageous industries, promote the establishment of offshore innovation and entrepreneurship bases, overseas innovation centers and international cooperative industrial parks, hold international innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and forums, strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship policy communication and international innovation resources integration and links, guide mutual open resources, open scenarios, open applications and open innovation needs, continuously optimize the entrepreneurial service system of incubators, accelerators and industrial parks, provide support for high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and build Nordic Innovation Hub in China.
