Rui Ping Xiao

Prof. Rui-Ping Xiao, research has been focused on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, with a major emphasis on a translational approach to take bench discoveries into clinically relevant situations. Ongoing research directions include signaling pathways involved in metabolic syndrome and associated cardiovascular complications. She has over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals with over 14,000 citations. Currently, Prof. Xiao serves as a council member of the International Society of Heart Research (ISHR) and the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), and as an Associate Editor of the New England Journal of Medicine and on the editorial board of several other scientific journals.
