Zhang Tao, male, Han nationality, born in Shaanxi in 1963. He is currently a member of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the 14th National People's Congress, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a member of the World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries. He has long been engaged in the cultivation of scientific and technological talents, management of scientific research, scientific and technological strategic planning and research on science and technology policies, achieving outstanding results. He has been engaged in industrial catalysis research for a long time, with the outcomes being applied in various fields in China. His primary areas of research include aerospace catalysis technology, environmental protection catalysis and new catalytic materials. He has presided over or participated in the planning and implementation of a number of important strategic research reports and reform programmes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in related scientific and technological fields.
