On October 16, the parallel forum “Intelligence + Healthcare” of ZGC Forum 2019 sponsored by Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges and hosted by Beijing Medical Doctor Association was held in Beijing.

Experts and scholars from DFKI, the European Digital Healthcare Conference, the Italian Ministry of Health, the Australian AI Council, the Israeli Institute of Technology and other well-known institutions in the field of AI and healthcare, representatives of the business community, and leaders and experts from the Chinese Hospital Association, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Peking University People’s Hospital, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, Beijing You An Hospital of Capital Medical University, BOE Technology Group, Huawei Cloud AI, Allcure Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and Yidu Cloud Technology attended the Forum and spoke respectively. Leaders from the Municipal Health and Health Committee, the Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Municipal Economic and Information Bureau attended the meeting.

Lu Yan, vice mayor of Beijing, met with the main Chinese and foreign guests and delivered a speech before the meeting. Zhao Wenzhi, vice-chairman of the China NGO Network for International Exchanges, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC Beijing Committee, and president of the Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges, attended and delivered welcoming remarks. Fang Laiying, member of the National Committee of CPPCC and vice-chairman of the Chinese Hospital Association, Hans Uszkoreit, member of The Academy of Europe and co-founder of DFKI, delivered the keynote speech, stressing that AI, as a highly comprehensive interdisciplinary subject, would be increasingly applied in the medical field and become an important scientific and technological means affecting the development of the medical industry. The application of AI in the field of medical care and health will provide more space and unlimited possibilities for human development and greatly improve the people’s sense of happiness and procurement. During the conference speech and guest discussion sessions, Chinese and foreign guests attending the conference held discussions on the technological development, application scenarios, research hotspot and challenges of AI in the field of medical health. They gathered the wisdom of Chinese and foreign experts, and offered suggestions for promoting the healthy development of global intelligent medical care.

During the Forum, four research results in the clinical application field of “Intelligence + Health” were also released, namely, the major breakthrough project for accurate early diagnosis and early treatment of liver cancer by Professor Li Ning’s team in Beijing You An Hospital, the global medical “Accurate Cloud Radiotherapy” project, the medical data center for regional health care in Yidu Cloud and the application of orthopaedic surgery robot “Phegda” by Tian Wei, president of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital.
