Reporters learned from the Press Conference of the 2019 ZGC Forum held on the 11th that the ZGC Forum with the permanent theme of “Innovation and Development” will be held in Beijing from October 16th to 18th. During this Forum, 18 parallel forums, one Zhongguancun International Cutting-Edge Technology Achievements Exhibition and one Major Achievements Release Conference will be held synchronously in the form of “Conference + Exhibition + Release”.

Zhai Lixin, director of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, said, in introducing the overall arrangement of the Forum, that this year’s forum will focus on the current global hot spots, the advantages of Beijing and the characteristics of Zhongguancun, locate at the “Cutting Technology and Future Industries”, strive to grasp the global innovation trend, keep abreast of innovation and entrepreneurship, jointly evaluate the future trend of global science and technology, grasp the opportunities for the development of emerging industries, and make efforts to cultivate new economy. According to incomplete statistics, dozens of well-known scientists, tens of investors, more than 1,000 entrepreneurs and tens of thousands of general public will participate in the forums and the exhibitions. This Forum will integrate the ideological contents, the leading edge, the experience and the interaction, and adequately reflect the characteristics of active innovation and entrepreneurship and favorable entrepreneurial ecology in Zhongguancun.

Zhai Lixin also introduced that the “Zhongguancun International Cutting-Edge Technology Achievements Exhibition” to be held during the Forum will intensively exhibit 170 scientific and technological achievements in AI and information technology, bioscience and biotechnology, intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment, new materials and new energy, and cutting-edge technology exploration zone, such as the “Vapor Generation - New Green Energy” project of Tsinghua University, the “Gene Editing” project of the Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Genomics (ICG), PKU, and the “Intelligent Manufacturing - Digital Twin” project of Siemens, Germany. In addition, during the exhibition period, a series of activities will be held to firstly launch new products and achievements, focusing on more than 100 new products and achievements of more than 70 enterprises in the fields of AI, high-end equipment, bio-medicine, etc.

It is known that at the Forum, the release of major scientific and technological achievements will be arranged, focusing on the release of a number of major achievements in the construction of Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Center and the innovative development of Zhongguancun. The main contents of the release include three aspects: firstly, release of major policies. For example, a series of major policies will be released, such as 30 new measures for the construction of Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Center, and 14 policies on intellectual property pledge and financing jointly introduced by the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, the Bank Management Department of the People’s Bank of China, the Banking Regulatory Bureau and the Intellectual Property Office. Secondly, release of major cooperation projects. For example, the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park will sign a memorandum of cooperation and other documents with Japan Science and Technology Agency and Japan-China Economic Association on strengthening innovation and cooperation, and establishing a normal communication and docking mechanism. Thirdly, release of major platform construction. For example, the Kunpeng Joint Innovation Center project, jointly established by Beijing and Huawei, the Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute project, jointly established by Haidian and Tsinghua University and related enterprises, etc.
